In spring 2005 the Jewish Publication Society published a lovely coffee-table book of The Song of Songs: the Honeybee in the Garden, featuring 65 illuminations of the entire biblical book with commentaries providing translations and explaining the visual midrash embodied in the book,  along with the introduction found here and a preface by the celebrated scholar of medieval Jewish poetry, Raymond P. Sheindlin, of The Jewish Theological Seminary of America.

The 160-page, 9″x12″ cloth-bound book is priced at $75, and is available either directly from JPS or from traditional bookstores and internet book dealers. A deluxe edition, slipcased along with a print of one illumination is also available. Please contact JPS for information on ordering the book.
